Renowned drummer, composer and educator Chris O’Connor paired with sound installation artist Dr Bridget Johnson, and worked in partnership with the Taranaki Retreat, Access Radio Taranaki and the Rural Support Trust to bring together a unique community arts collaboration focused on creativity, mental health and well being support for male participants.

The men worked with O’Connor (who has performed with musicians including Don McGlashan, Trinity Roots, Neil Finn, and the Auckland Chamber Orchestra) and Johnson, Senior Lecturer at the Massey School of Music and Creative Media Production in Wellington, to make and create music and sound using common objects found in rural environments.
